Privacy Policy

Outroam (“we”, “the app”) is a location-based exploration game. This policy explains what we
collect and why. We designed Outroam to collect as little as possible.
What we collect
- Location (precise), while you use the app. Used to reveal the map (“fog of war”), grow your territory, and show nearby places. We only request “When In Use” — never background or “Always”.
- Camera images you capture in the Field Guide. A photo you take is sent to our classifier to identify the animal, then associated with your guide entry.
- An anonymous guest account id. Created automatically so your progress can sync. It is not tied to your name, email, or phone number.
- Gameplay data: tiles explored, territory, creatures logged, achievements, and coverage counts.
What we do NOT do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not use your data for advertising or cross-app/website tracking.
- We do not publish or share your exact routes — only coverage counts and percentages.
- We do not require your name, email, or phone number to play.
How it’s used
Strictly to provide and improve the game: rendering your map, territory, Field Guide, and stats.
Storage & retention
Gameplay data is stored on your device and in our backend (Supabase). You can reset your guest
session in Profile, which clears your local data.
Children
Outroam is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal information
from children.
